Scion announces commercial partnership and sponsorship with Accrington Stanley FC

The partnership strengthens Scion’s commitment to the North West, combining sponsorship with commercial collaboration as the company expands its international footprint and capabilities across Compliance, Intelligence and Performance.
North West, UK — September 2026. Scion has announced a new commercial partnership and sponsorship agreement with Accrington Stanley Football Club, strengthening its presence in the North West and creating new opportunities for commercial collaboration across the region.
The agreement extends beyond traditional sponsorship. Alongside Scion’s brand presence at the club, Scion and Accrington Stanley will work together to develop commercial opportunities, build relationships and create introductions through their respective business networks.
The partnership comes as Scion expands its capabilities across Compliance, Intelligence and Human & Organisational Performance, while developing its international footprint across the UK, United States and UAE.
For Scion, the relationship brings together two organisations with strong connections to the North West and an alignment that extends beyond geography.
At the heart of that connection is Accrington Stanley’s historic motto:
“Industry and Prudence Conquer.”
For Scion, those words have particular relevance to the challenges facing organisations today. Industry represents enterprise, determination and the ambition to grow. Prudence represents judgement, governance and control.
As businesses enter new markets, adopt new technologies, recruit and develop their people, and respond to increasingly complex regulatory, financial crime and operational risks, Scion believes sustainable growth requires both.
That philosophy sits behind Scion’s proposition across three interconnected capabilities:
Compliance, Intelligence and Performance.
Compliance helps organisations understand and manage regulatory obligations, financial crime risk, governance and control.
Intelligence brings together insight and specialist expertise to help organisations understand threats, investigate complex issues and make evidence-based decisions.
Performance applies Human & Organisational Performance expertise to help organisations understand how people, leadership, systems and processes influence risk and operational outcomes.
Together, Scion combines specialist expertise, intelligence and technology according to the requirements of each client.
International expertise, North West commitment
Scion is continuing to increase its international footprint, developing its capabilities, specialist network and partnerships across the United Kingdom, United States and United Arab Emirates.
As that international capability grows, the company is equally focused on bringing the expertise, experience and relationships developed across those markets to organisations in the North West.
The partnership with Accrington Stanley reflects that commitment, providing Scion with a platform to establish stronger relationships across the regional business community and make specialist expertise across Compliance, Intelligence and Human & Organisational Performance more accessible to organisations closer to home.
For Scion, international growth and regional commitment are complementary. The opportunity is to take experience, specialist capabilities and relationships developed across different markets and use them to strengthen the support available to North West businesses.
More than sponsorship
The relationship extends beyond Scion’s sponsorship and brand presence at Accrington Stanley. Through the commercial partnership, Scion and the club will work together to develop introductions, relationships and new business opportunities across their respective networks, creating value for both organisations.
For Scion, this provides a platform to embed itself further within the North West business community and develop long-term relationships as a trusted adviser.
For Accrington Stanley, the relationship provides access to Scion’s growing business network and creates additional opportunities for commercial collaboration.
The partnership will also provide opportunities to support organisations and initiatives within the wider community surrounding the club.
Gareth Syms FCIM, Chief Commercial Officer at Scion, said:
“This is more than putting the Scion name around the stadium. We’ve structured the relationship so that Scion and Accrington Stanley can work together commercially, make introductions and create opportunities that benefit both organisations.
The North West is Scion’s home, and while we’re increasing our international footprint, we’re equally committed to building the business here and supporting organisations across the region. We want to become part of the local business community and build long-term relationships as a trusted adviser.
The relationship also gives us an opportunity to support the wider community around the club. We were delighted to invite Survive Another Day to join us at Accrington Stanley’s Sponsors’ Penalty Shootout, and we hope that’s the beginning of what we can do together beyond the commercial partnership.”
Warren Eastham, CEO of Accrington Stanley FC, said:
“We want our commercial partnerships to deliver value beyond traditional sponsorship, and the relationship with Scion has been developed with that in mind.
Scion brings expertise and an international business network that we can introduce to businesses connected with the club, while we can help Scion build relationships across Accrington and the wider North West. If we can create opportunities for businesses on both sides of the partnership, then the relationship becomes much more valuable than simply having a name around the stadium.
We’re also pleased to see Scion engaging with the wider community so early in the partnership. Supporting charities such as Survive Another Day is an important part of the positive impact that businesses working with the club can have locally."
The relationship will provide Scion with opportunities to engage with businesses, clients, partners and community organisations throughout the season. It also gives practical meaning to a principle shared by the two organisations:
Industry creates opportunity. Prudence protects it.
